Meter Provida Secures New 40,000 Sq Ft Unit at Markham Vale

Meter Provida has agreed a lease on a new 40,000 sq ft building over a 2.2 acre plot at Markham Vale, one of the UK’s premier logistics locations situated between Sheffield and Nottingham.

The new development offers immediate access to the M1 motorway in the heart of the country via a dedicated new junction, J29A.

The new building is part of Meter Provida’s aggressive expansion plans for its Supply Chain Management Solutions for the Metering industry. Expanded facilities and the central location will help the company deliver on the growing supply chain requirements of its customers.

Meter Provida Managing Director, Tim Houtby said: “We are very excited by the planned move to Markham Vale. Meter Provida is seeing huge interest in its integrated supply chain solutions, particularly with the impending commencement of the UK-wide Smart Meter Rollout programme, and the new site will enable us to continue to deliver on our commitment to excellence in the supply chain as well as increase our stockholding.

Being close to good transport links is vital for the business but it’s also important for our local staff. We’ve been based in Chesterfield for the past 15 years and so we wanted to make it as convenient as possible for our existing team to get to the new offices. Markham Vale’s central location widens the potential for recruiting too, which is good news as we continue to expand.”

Work is set to commence on site on in May 2015, over a 22 week build programme, with completion forecast for early November 2015.
